The animation “premiered” at UTS’s 25th anniversary dinner and generated a great level of excitement among the audience, which included UTS’s senior executive, UTS Council, the NSW Governor General, the Lord Mayor of Sydney and major industry partners, to name a few.
Our task was to update the existing 3D virtual site with models for:
- Thomas Street Building, designed by Durbach Block Jaggers with BVN Architecture
- Alumni Green, designed by Aspect Studios
- The Goods Line, designed by Aspect Studios
- Dr Chau Chak Wing Building, designed by Gehry Partners
We also included the new:
Faculty of Engineering and IT building designed by Denton Corker Marshall architects
Yura Mudang Student Housing designed by Lacoste & Stevenson architects
UTS Central podium building designed by Lacoste & Stevenson architects
Central Park Building designed by Jean Nouvel architects

The 3D models were procured from respective architects, to which textures had to then be added. Landscaping was also a major part of the project as the Alumni Green had to have many particular species.
Cameras were added and lighting adjusted per shot. We worked closely with James Stuart (the Communications Manager, Campus Development) in order to achieve a final edit which satisfied his requirements.
Lastly, vehicles and animated people were painstakingly added. We chose to add the animated people at no charge to the client despite the effort involved, because ultimately we are always dedicated to delivering a product of the highest standard.
After final rendering, extensive post work was done to add the final grade, complete with bling for the final polish.
Titles and music were then added by UTS’s in-house editor.
The animation was incredibly well received, by all interested parties.
